Building and Stirring

September 4, 2011 “Building & Stirring!”
Today this message is about “building & stirring!” Building a spiritual tabernacle for the Glory of God. There are Scriptures that teach us commandments regarding “Building” as a wise “Master Builder.” We are alerted in God’s Word that everyone should take heed how they build.  Obviously we are talking about building a “spiritual tabernacle- foundation” in our Christian life.  Gold, Silver, Precious Stones, they are as wood, hay, and stubble, when used in the foundation.  We are told in Scripture that “we are the Temple of God.” This takes some solemn thought provoking meditation on the part of the saint of God.  “We are the Temple of God?” And the Glorious Promise that we have is: “We know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” The saints know to build a proper tabernacle for God; it must have a Foundation that is the Lord Jesus Christ.  But how do we go about this “building” process?  The Message is also about “Stirring!”  Under the direction of the Holy Ghost, Paul gave this most powerful statement to Timothy;  “… Stir up the Gift of God!...” Then Peter came along and gave this declaration: “… Stir up your pure minds…” The Psalmist writes: “…Stir up thy strength …”  As we think upon “building” for eternity and “stirring” we look to the Theological part of the Webster Dictionary to find profound statements that bring deeper meaning to our thoughts. Build: to form, to order, to construct, to develop, to increase, Stir: to change position, to rouse to activity, evoke strong feelings, to call forth, provoke [to call forth – stir up purposely], to begin to be active!  Let us stir up the Holy Ghost in our life and build a stronger Tabernacle for our Lord & Saviour!  Stirring & Building together, Love Pastor
