“Who
is like unto Thee, O Lord,
among the gods? who is like
Thee, glorious in Holiness, fearful in
Praises, doing wonders?” ~ Ex. 15:11
The Seraphims of Isa. 6:3 “…cried unto one another, saying, Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of
hosts: the whole earth is full of His Glory.” John saw The four Beasts in
Rev. 4:8 and he said “… they rest not day and night, saying, Holy,
Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” We continue our study today concerning the
Holiness of God. It is difficult to talk about the Holiness of God in one
session. There is so much to be covered when we meditate upon our Holy
God. I think that might be the problem
in our society today, there is little thought of God’s Holiness and what He
requires of His saints. Again, Holy
means: “entirely devoted to a Diety.”
There is a lot of devotion to the things in our world today but to say
the devotion is to God is yet another thought. God has declared in His Word
[Isa. 45:22] “Look unto Me, and be ye Saved, all the ends of the earth: for I Am God,
and there is none else.” The
question is asked, what takes first place in our life? This is a question to
think about, meditate upon and seriously consider! Holiness is a commitment to a Christ-like
life style. To understand Holiness in our life we look to Jesus. We see His
actions, His passions, His commitment to His Father. There is a great need to
day to get into the Gospels, [Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John] and take a strong
at the Life of Christ. Holiness, devotion to God, awareness of our frailties,
sensitive to Spiritual matter, and faithfulness in our Christian character is
all part of the Born Again saint of God.
Not only is God Holy, Jesus is Holy, and the Spirit of God Holy C and
everything that pertains to Him is Holy, which means it is set apart for His
use. Scripture reveals [and I repeat
from last week] His House is Holy, His Altar is Holy, The Furniture in His
House is Holy. His Testimonies are Holy, His Promises are Holy, The Tithe is
Holy, His Habitation is Holy, His Priests shall be Holy, the Garments of the
Priests are Holy, … And He desires a Holy people, a Holy nation. A study of
Holiness reminds us of a Holy God and His instruction to His people … Lev.
20:7 “Sanctify yourselves
therefore, and be ye Holy: for I Am
the LORD your God.”
Jesus Prayed: …” I
pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou
shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I Am not
of the world. Sanctify them through Thy Truth: Thy Word is Truth. As Thou hast
sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” ~ Jn. 17:15-18
Loving you as we pursue a Holy God together,
Pastor
