What a joyous occasion, Valentines Day, a wonderful opportunity to share your love with one another and to remember the greatest valentine of all time, our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome to the Service today and may you feel His Love in this house!
Whoso keepeth God’s Word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.” − 1 John 2:5-6
Today the stores are loaded with Valentines of all sorts. Every year it gathers more momentum as business sees the opportunity to make money. But the Valentine we are going to talk about today can not be purchased with money. Yet, it is the most valuable Valentine that you will ever receive. God’s Love given to us in Jesus Christ! It is an Everlasting Gift. This Eternal Gift, our Salvation, was a Sacrifice. Those who are “Born Again” know this, but often we forget to give thanks for this valuable Gift. Pictures of hearts will be before us until Valentine’s Day is over. But showing our Love and appreciating the people in our life should be shown our Love more then just one day a year. Thus it is true of our Love for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus heart was broken for the sins of the world and He gave the Sacrifice of His life that we might have the greatest Gift of all, Eternal Life. God has given us instruction concerning our Love for Him: “Thou shalt Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the First Commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt Love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” As our heart turns toward our loved ones and we scurry about finding just the right Gift for someone we love, may we remember our Saviour, who is the Love of our Life! Let us not just show our Love in this season, but let us walk daily in the Spirit of Christ and Love our neighbor as our self and in so doing fulfill the Commandment of our Loving Saviour. You are Loved, Pastor
