"Whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked." 1 John 2: 5-6.
As we read through the "Red" Words of Jesus, there is so much to take in: His thoughts, His instruction, His correction, His patience, His patience with humanity and His Love. As we enter into February, we again begin to think of Valentines and love. There is always an occasion to reflect on love, especially God's love and the Love of Christ. The Valentine season is just another way to think about Jesus, for without His Love, where would humanity be? The world seeks a kind of lasting love; but it seems to escape them because it is fickle. But, God's Love is Everlasting. As we explore the Scriptures today regarding love, we are once more reminded of the "Passion" of Christ. He is the greatest Valentine ever delivered to mankind. Scripture tells us that as we try to understand love or perceive just what it is, we are informed: " it is the fact that Jesus laid down His life for us." And saints, we know how hard it is to just try and please someone--but to lay down our life for a wicked and unregenerate individual, well, that is God's kind of Love. In Jesus' final moments with His disciples, He left a "New Commandment"-- "Love one another; as I have loved you! By this all men know ye are My disciples, if ye love one another." Let us be challenged by Jesus' Love, to show and share His kind of Love--not only to those who are special to us, but to all mankind.
Lord keep us in Your Love
