Wars and Rumors of Wars

“When ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings …”   ~ Mark 13:7-8
Let’s Talk about the End Time. What are the thoughts of Christians when it comes to discussing “The End”?   First with God the End is glorious, but getting to the end is quite a journey.  As I was in my devotions I was reading in 2 Chron. And I came across a well-know Passage of Scripture which read: “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in behalf of the whose heart is perfect toward Him.”  I’ve quoted this Scripture since I was child, but now I read on and it seemed like the first time I ever read this portion – Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shall have wars!” Out of this comes the Message today. My thoughts soared, God was encouraging His People, telling us He was watching over us: {the strong of heart – I took this to mean the Believer} Who then are the foolish? So back to the full Chapter to answer these questions. There was a war going on and the emphasis that I see is, they had not trusted the Lord.  They had relied upon the arm of flesh in this battle. Now I have a sermon!  God is looking upon us and desiring us to “trust” Him in the circumstances of our life, the freedom of our country, and the leadership of our country. Battles can only be won when God is at the helm of our life and our Trust is in Him. There are wars and rumor of wars all around us as we watch the news. Our commentator’s will not let up on the leadership of our country in collusion with Russia. Now Russia has some great weapon that they tell us we can not stop, etc. Then there is China that seems to have heavy artillery and a warring spirit. There is must unrest in the Nations. America must trust in God, that we be not foolish and trust in the arm of flesh. Take comfort saints, and hear God’s comforting words; Ps. 46-47 and here is just a phrase, “He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; Be still and know that I Am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge … and Selah!”  Hear the Words of Jesus to US, His followers, His Disciples … Luke 21:9, When ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. VS 19 In patience possess ye your souls! Let us strengthen our “Trust” in our God! Loving you, Pastor

A Time with Purpose 2019

“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being Fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to His Glorious Power, unto all patience and longsuffering with Joyfulness!”  ~ Col. 1:10-11
Wishing you a prosperous New Year as you begin to celebrate 2019. I believe God has great Purpose for this New Year! He has said in His Word, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” It is most probable that the Lord awaits our decision to follow more closely after His Will. With what Purpose will we enter this New Year of 2019? Many will attempt to make New Year’s resolutions. They will find them hard to walk out as the New Year wears on into the first months. May we make Spiritual resolutions! It is a time in our generation that corruption has creped into our world like never before, and it has touched the Church of Jesus Christ. We are to be a Fruitful people according to the Word of God. It is a time for the Church of Jesus Christ to make a “Fruitful” or greater Spiritual commitment. Ps. One encourages us to “Delight in the Law of the Lord:” For us, that is to Delight in Jesus our Saviour, He has given us Grace. Hear the Word of the Lord --- Psalm 119:126-130 “It is Time for Thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void Thy Law. I esteem all Thy Precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. Thy Testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them. The entrance of Thy Words giveth light; it giveth Under-standing …. As we meditate upon these Words of God, we truly know that they are true. It is a strategic Time, in our Generation, that we must hear the Word of the Lord! We have such a short time in our season to perform a holy purpose!  Let us give some thought to this Time, that we might fulfill the purpose of God in our Generation. Ps. 78:6 says “That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their Hope in God, and not forget the Works of God, but keep His Word…! We are admonished from the Word of God to “Redeem the Time,” because the days are evil!” 2019 will be a Time of Purpose, God will call for the Fruit of His Spirit to be perfected in our life, that we might draw others to Him. More Prayer will strengthen our “Fruit” and more of “His Word” will create a positive force in our life! “For the time will come [has come] when sound Doctrine will not endure and humanity will be turned to their own way.”  -- Trust in the Lord, and we will be “Kept by the Power of God through Faith in Him!  Loving you, Pastor

Tidings of Great Joy

In this moment and time, what the world needs is to remember the voice of the angel! “I bring you good tidings of Great Joy!” Tidings, that is news of great truth! Is there joy in the heart of the Lord’s saints today? Joy is so much more than happiness; it is everlasting and depends upon the strength of our belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. When the Angel pronounced Jesus’ birth, a multitude of heavenly host became visible to mankind as they praised Him! And what was Heaven’s response? Praising God and declaring: “On earth Peace, good will to all people!”  It was Joyous News to the shepherds out in the field watching their sheep by night. O saints, know the Good Shepherd watches you all through the night? It is His good pleasure to care for His flock! I hear the Psalmist in Psalm 100 “Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.” And the scripture goes on to reveal His desire concerning us: Vs4 ~ “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. Vs5 ~ “For the Lord is good; His mercy is ever-lasting; and His Truth endureth to all generations.” It is Jesus’ desire to commune with us, even in the night seasons of our life, and to reveal His expectation for us. His greatest desire is that we be ready for His Coming! He is coming again even as He came as the Child born and placed in the manager … the feeding place of the cattle. He is the one who desires to nourish us spiritually by His Word as He prepares us for eternal life. He will come in Rapture for His saints; He will come in death for His saints; He is coming! The prophets have forewarned us, this will happen. He will be born in Bethlehem! Micah 5: “Thou, Bethlehem, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” O the tidings of Great Joy that have been given to the believer who Loves the Lord with all their heart! The gifts He has given outnumber our thoughts! Love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, healing, joy unspeakable, peace, kindness, on and on go the precious gifts of our Saviour. The Angel promised it, Jesus has fulfilled it! And if we truly love Him with a full heart, tidings of great joy will fill our heart, our soul, and our spirit! “… with exceeding Joy. To the only wise God our Saviour, be Glory and Majesty, Dominion and Power, both now and ever. Amen.  Your Pastor
